I really debated about whether to ask for donations or charge an annual membership fee to access various parts of Downwind. In the end I decided that an annual donation was a better way to go as I hoped that members that valued the community and services offered by Downwind would contribute for the upkeep and growth of the site.
In the spirit of a true community I decided to leave the level of donation up to the individual by providing three options (the maximum being about 10 minutes of aircraft hire);
In appreciation for your donation a graphic corresponding to your donation level similar to those above will appear beneath your forum picture next to each post that you make. This will also let others know that you're a contributor to the Downwind community.
Every donation is greatly appreciated and I would like to thank you in advance for your generous contribution to what has become a great labour of love for both Roselyn and I.
