Hi all

I'm going to commence my flight training in approx 4 weeks. Been wanting to do this for many many years. I'm in my late 40s, but I have had an inhterest in aviation since I was a child. So here's my opportunity to do something about it... Let's see how I go.

Great stuff Alex! I'm the same vintage as you and went through the same thought process back in '09. Finally fulfilled that dream earlier this year. Keep us posted!

Good luck with it all. I came back last year after doing my initial training in 1983, I stopped then for the same reasons many of us do, family, house, job but it was a passion I couldn't ignore. A bit older than you but I am doing my commercial and MECIR as I am fortunate enough to be in a position to be buying an plane in the next year.

Wellll..

after a few delays of my making, I finally got round to doing my TIF....it was fantastic.
I ended up flying in a Jabiru (not sure about the spelling) for about 30 mins and it was amazing. I was a bit nervous because I soon realised the enormity of the task I had committed myself to undertaking and the expense but bugger it!.. It's time to do something for myself! Next flight will be in a Piper Warrior so that I can get a feel for a 4 seater. Then I have to decide whether to learn in the 2 or 4 seater. I cant wait for my next lesson.

Cheers
