Introduction 3 Years, 1 Month ago

Hi,
A great site here that I just came across.
I currently have an SPL, and am learning to fly in a C172N (and sometimes M) at Barwon Heads Airport in Victoria with Barbara Begg (CFI) and Nick Borley. I am about to take the GFPT there soon with Roy Thorpe- just waiting on medical paperwork for him.

Prior to Barwon Heads, I did some brief training at Bacchus Marsh Airfield with TVSA flying with Bill Surtees and Benn Jenkin in a PA-28 and C152. This was back in December 2007 as part of an intensive 'Flightcamp' week's training for school students. After this I took a break and came back to it at Barwon Heads in August 2008 taking advantage of a shorter commute from home in Geelong. I was a little rusty with only four hours, and almost had to start from the start of the training again. I went solo with a total of 27 hours in January 2009, went area solo in March 2009, and now I feel ready for the GFPT.

Looking forward to contributing on this forum and through this site.

Congratulations! Well done on getting to the stage you're at....it's a BIG step! Feel free to ask for any advice as I personally do.....as I find that I end up learning a lot from other pilots.

Thanks for your welcome, yes, I have found through other forums that there really is a wealth of information out there through other pilots who have already been through similar experiences. Looking forward to taking the GFPT sometime soon.

The GFPT is a great experience because on the other side it allows you to do cross-countries.....you feel so free!
