It looks like there is yet another spammer active on our forums, so I would propose a solution, have the ability to mark a forum post or blog post / blog comment as SPAM.

This could allow the community to report these people quickly and easily and we could even have a functionality which could unpublish or delete a post if X members report a post/thread as SPAM, this would make life a little easier for Michael.

Thoughts?

Totally on the same page,about members ability to delete a post etc..., a good idea,but fraught with problems,I reckon.What happens if you make a legitimate post,someone takes exception to the content,and decides to delete it.You could have a system where a member could take action to delete the post,sort of mark it as SPAM,making it invisible,to all,but the Administrator (aka:Michael).Then Michael could decide the further action,either delete the post/user,or reinstate the post on the site etc...This process would record the member who instigated the SPAM removal process,so that if neccesary, action could be taken if the deletor instigated the process for malicious,or mischevious purposes.By the way,I have contacted Michael,(actually Roselyn),who will check etc...

Further to my last.The poster,by the looks of things has spent a considerable amount of time,formatting his or her "trash",judging by their length.If we could delete etc.., as I have descibed above,It would really ruin their "jollies",and really get up their nose,knowing that whenever or whatever time they choose to post their rubbish,someboby out there will delete it,as fast as they can post it.After a while,they will get really "p'''ssed",and go away.

Raptor: the suggestion to allow members to report SPAM and have the post deleted would be a case of; if X amount of members say the post is SPAM then (and only then) does it get removed. This however would take a little bit of programming work to achieve so may not be possible seeing Michael is quite busy as it is.

I do however feel that a reporting facility would be very useful, or even maybe appointing one or two members as administrators so they can administer parts of the site when Michael is busy.

I reckon members should be able to delete posts. I kInda trust the members here to do the right thing and there could be a post delete button that could perhaps get rid of the posts to a place where Michael could be the final judge. The post delete button could perhaps be only on new member entries and could disapear after say 5 - 10 posts.

Not sure if this is possible ... Where are you Michael anyway, your posts seem very infrequent these days!
