I watched the Chang forced to land on Rwy 03L without gear due to failure today. Rego VH-NNJ All ok, pilot did awesome job putting her on the ground and staying on the Rwy. They have just brought a crane in to remove the a/c

was going to fly, but WX was bad, we had 22kt - 30 kt xwind. One of the airplanes went for a taxi on its own, wasnt tied down very well LOL. Wasnt one of the guys you met,

Tam: Thank's for the weather headsup,we will probably get it overnight,or tommorrow.Glad nobody was injured.About the aircraft taxying by itself,maybe somebody should be schooled in the art of tieing down an aircraft properly.

Correct Raptor - it wasnt tied down very well at all, bit of a pathetic effort I believe. But I sorted it! The wx is yuck! We just had a massive dose of rain/hail & wind that blew over my palm tree.

Those Nanchangs are awesome to watch at full cry. At YBUN where I did my flight test, they've got a blue camo one... can't remember the VH rego. I'd like to go up for a spin in that, probably around Easter.

Not only awesome to watch but awesome to fly. The gear, brakes and flaps in Nanchangs are pneumatic, any idea if flaps were deployed on landing? Pic of the aircraft here www.downwind.com.au/index.php/community/...mid=113#photoid=2481
