The RA-Aus certificate is because the aircraft are registered and operated under Recreational Aviation Australia.
Once you have a PPL it's only 5 or so hours on an appropriate aircraft to convert to the certificate.

Surely going from a C152 to a Jabiru can't be much different compared to say going from a Mooney into a C152.
The main difference, I believe, is the inertia - or lack thereof. I've never flown a Mooney, but from googling them they look a bit like a Warrior. So pretty stable I'd assume.
The Jab is not. The Jab is light and finicky and bounces around like you wouldn't believe. I haven't flown a C152 but have flown a C172 and it was definitely a LOT more stable than the Jab, it just moseyed along where you wanted it it seemed.
I've heard lots of people say 'If you can fly a Jab, you can fly anything' - I guess shortly I'll be seeing if that's true.
I recommend going for a fly in a Jab just to see the difference
